Youth Does not age, but burn Does not fade, but yearn From deep in the heart for fire Passion Will not grow, but breed Will not die, but seed Waiting in the dark for some kind of heat To grow (To grow) To grow To grow To grow To grow To grow Manzanita With your strong branches Reach out For the sun Happiness Is not owed, but earned Is not found, but formed As snow amongst the ashes Of desire Purpose Could not rest in greed Could not speak But lead you into your light From root to leaf To Grow (To Grow) To grow To grow To grow To grow To grow Manzanita With your strong roots Grow down And hold firm For the Bloom And the Sun For the Flame And the Ash As the journey will have begun

I dream Of days I lived naïvely Blissful Ignorant I see A million faces nobody knows Yet they feel Just as real Falsehoods speak Where memories fail Comfort me Knowing I’ve grown more frail I sing songs No one else sings anymore I think about those Who haven’t thought of me In years Falsehoods speak Where memories fail Tell me I’m a fool And pull back the veil I dream (I dream, I dream) I see (I see, I see) I sing (I sing, I sing) I think (I think) I feel

about

Bloom depicts the season of Spring through the experience of the Manzanita tree. With that perspective in mind, we experience naive and frail growth. We experience a burst of passion, but then questions and doubts begin to surface. We start to wonder if what we want, or what we are, is the truth. Things are starting to change.

"Bloom" is the first of four releases surrounding the "Manzanita" concept album. Each release represents a significant part of our journey through life. Every journey has pain and loss; every journey has pure joy and celebration. Manzanita seeks to explore these seasons of life through symbolism and prose.
